Daniels Set To Deliver State Of The State Address
(Indianapolis) -- Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels is scheduled to deliver his State of the State Address to a joint session of the General Assembly tonight.
Daniels says most of the 30-minute speech will be devoted to property taxes.
The governor has pushed for reforms in the legislature that include a one-percent cap on homestead property taxes.
Both chambers in the General Assembly are in various stages of debating that legislation.
Daniels has resisted calls to repeal the tax entirely, saying there has not been a workable solution.
The governor says he may address another topic on the periphery.
The speech begins at 7 p.m.
