Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel says the 12-million dollar youth softball-baseball complex is not a done deal.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau says Wesselman Parks par 3 golf course is the best place for the complex.
But in a meeting with the media - Mayor Weinzapfel says while he supports the construction of the nine diamond complex the site has not been approved.
He says there are questions about the impact on Wesselman Woods and whether certain facilities will be re-located.
He also says he wants the bureau to come up with alternative sites which may include hamilton golf course.
The county council approved the bureaus request for more than 425-thousand dollars to hire an architect last week.
They are still hoping to break ground on the project by this summer.
