"Hamilton" has been a leading name in tri-state golf for more than 60 years, but that may be coming to an end.
Jim Hamilton says his family will close Hamilton Golf Course on February 1st.
The Hamiltons 35 year lease with Vanderburgh County ends next year, but he says his family has to get out now because of the financial strain.
A consultant had recommended that Hamilton be converted to a park.
However, Republican commissioners Jeff Korb and Bill Nix said, if possible, they would like to keep it a golf course, especially after the golfing public made clear how much they love the golf course.
