Free tire recycling for Kentucky residents

Residents and businesses of Kentucky may bring in an unlimited number of tires for recycling at the Henderson, McLean, Union and Webster County Rd. Dept. during a first-ever State Tire Recycling Pilot Program offered to our counties, residents and businesses and continuing until July1, 2010. This is a pioneer program which may be expanded statewide if this pilot program proves successful. All tires will be accepted free of charge with the following exceptions: · Businesses that have retail tire sales may NOT participate in this free program. · Tires cannot be solid-filled or foam-filled tires. · Tires will be accepted if they are on rims. All other businesses and Kentucky residents may bring tires to the facilities listed below during the following hours: Henderson Co. Road Dept: 5684 Airline Rd., Henderson, KY (270)826-8843 Please call ahead for loads larger than 50 tires. Hours: Monday-Friday: 7:30 to 3 p.m. Also Last Sat of each month from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (beginning in Feb) Union Co Road Dept: 212 Airline Rd., Morganfield, KY (270) 389-1646 Hours: Mon.-Fri.: 7 a.m. to 3:30 P.m. Also 1st and 2nd Sat. of each month 7- 1p.m. McLean County Road Dept.: 1508 HWY 136E, Calhoun, KY (270) 273-5307 Hours: Mon, Wed., Thurs., Fri.: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Each Sat. 8 a.m.-12 noon Webster Co. Road Dept: 1075 HWY 132W, Dixon, KY (270) 639-7000 Hours: Beginning Jan. 28, Monday-Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Also First Sat. of each month 8-12 This program provided by: Ky Division of Waste Management, Henderson, McLean, Union and Webster County Fiscal Court, Road Departments, Detention Centers & the Tri-County Recycling Alliance.
