Master Trooper James Boling Arrests his 1,000th Drunk Driver

Lieutenant Dennis Marshall, Commander of the Evansville District, announced today that Master Trooper James Boling arrested his 1,000th drunk driver last night while patrolling S.R. 66 in Warrick County. “Boling has always been instrumental in locating and arresting intoxicated drivers. There is no doubt that lives have been saved due to his extraordinary dedication in removing intoxicated drivers from our roadways in southwest Indiana,” said Marshall. Boling alone arrested 148 drunk drivers last year. Boling joined the Indiana State Police in December 1990 and was assigned to the Evansville District. His primary responsibility was patrol until he was transferred to the Gaming Division at Casino Aztar in April 1999. Boling transferred back to the Evansville District and resumed patrol duties in August 2006. Although he has dedicated 17 years with the Indiana State Police, only ten of those years have been spent patrolling area roadways. Boling has always chosen to work the night shift because his passion is removing drunk and dangerous drivers from area roadways. Although he has arrested drunk drivers in every county within the Evansville District, the majority of drunk driving arrests have occurred in Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties.
