Lloyd Back Open After Steel Spill

By: Web Producer
Updated: January 22, 2008
Update: 4:45 p.m. Evansville 911 Dispatch reports the Lloyd Expressway is back open following nasty spill. The westbound Lloyd Expressway at Highway 41 is closed at this hour (3:10 p.m. CST 1/21/08) due to an accident involving a semi tractor trailer. Our crews on the scene say a load of steel was spilled on the highway. The load apparently shifted as the driver attempted to exit from Highway 41 onto the Lloyd spilling the steel across the westbound lanes. Crews are clearing the scene at this hour, but it could take sometime before normal traffic is restored. Stay with Fox 7 for updates on-line and on-air. Meanwhile, drivers are urged to find alternative routes around the accident site.
