AUDITIONS SET FOR HOLIDAY WORLD’S 2008 SHOWS

SANTA CLAUS, IN-----Auditions for Holiday World’s 2008 cast of entertainers are scheduled in the coming weeks at venues in Indiana, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. The 2008 musical entertainment lineup at Holiday World includes the following:

v The HoliDazzles: A fun new children’s show, packed full of singing and dancing.
v Sing Praise!: From gospel songs to contemporary Christian favorites.
v Retro Active: Favorite hits from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s.
v Rockin’ The Country: Chart-toppers from the biggest names in country music.

Singers and technicians interested in applying should prepare a one-page resume listing education, training and experience. Performers must be prepared to sing a ballad and up-tempo song (limit to one minute each) in country, pop or gospel style. An accompanist and cassette/CD player will be provided. All performers are asked to bring dance attire, as a brief dance combination will be taught on site by a staff choreographer. Holiday World’s musical shows are produced by Encore International of Evansville, Indiana. Performers must be at least 16 years old and technicians must be 18 by the start of rehearsals in March to be eligible for hire.

Thursday, January 31, Oakland City, Ind. Oakland City University, 6 pm to 9 pm CST · Friday, February 1, Bloomington, Ind., Indiana University, 12 noon to 5 pm EST · Saturday, Feb. 2, Muncie, Ind., Ball State University, 11 am to 4 pm EST · Sunday, February 3, Santa Claus, Ind, Holiday World, 1 pm to 6 pm CST · Wednesday, February 13, Erie, Penn., Waldemeer Park, 4 pm to 8 pm EST · Friday, February 15, Owensboro, Ky., “Making the Cast” event at Towne Square Mall; registration begins at 5 pm CST · Sunday, February 17, Evansville, Ind., Jameson Inn, 2 pm to 7 pm CST Holiday World’s entertainment staff will also attend the Ohio Theatre Alliance and Unified Professional Theater auditions.
