We're not even to the second month of the year, and already Evansville Police are investigating what could be their second homicide. It happened on Covert Avenue last night. The victim was found inside his apartment with a single gunshot to the head. 44-year old Dayna Brown was found dead inside his apartment by his wife . She had been trying to call him at work all night, but never got a response. When she arrived at home around 11:30 she discovered why. When police first arrived, they thought it was a case of suicide, because there was no sign of a struggle, and the door was unlocked. That is until they discovered the weapon was missing. There was a shell casing found in the house, but no weapon found. Neighbors described the browns as friendly. Brown however, did have an extensive rap sheet. He's been arrested more than 20 times since 1993 with charges ranging from battery to narcotics violations to resisting arrest. But despite Brown's trouble with the law, officers say they're working hard on the case, and hope to find the person who killed him. Police are talking with a person of interest, but so far have not named a suspect or made an arrest. If you have information about this case, police ask you contact them immediately.

Victim: Dayna Brown
