2 Arrests in Owensboro Attempted Murder

Owensboro Police arrested Larry Davonport II and Donta L. Johnson after an early morning stake out. Both are now facing felony robbery and attempted murder charges. Earlier this week, police say a black male walked in to the Pantry Convenience Store on Leitchfield road, demanded cash, then fired a single shot from a handgun. A short time later, two black males walked in to the Kangaroo Convenience Store on Crabtree Avenue, took money, then shot the clerk in the leg. Undercover police units began watching area convenience stores, and around 6 Thursday morning, spotted two men matching the description of the hold up suspects. They tailed the suspects, and pulled them over for suspicious behavior. Officers believe a gun found in the vehicle matches the one used in the hold ups.
