breaking news
The Veterans' Administration is out with its review of the Marion VA medical center and it does not have many good things to say.
The agency began an investigation last year after complaints of poor care, a higher than average death rate, and questions about the credentials of some doctors.
The report says the amount of sub-standard care is excessive and it links most poor care to two surgeons, but it does not name them.
It also criticizes leadership at the hospital for not responding quickly enough to problems.
And it says too many staff members were afraid to complain about problems for fear they would be punished.
