breaking news
As winds swept through the tri-state Tuesday night, they caught members of an Evansville church off guard.
The winds blew off the steeple and bell off Friendship Southern Baptist church, leaving a hole in the roof.
Luckily, choir members were rehearsing and caught the damage early.
Some of the men climbed on top of the roof to cover the whole while winds were blowing strong.
If rain were to get in the hole overnight, the church could have suffered thousands more dollars worth of damage.
