breaking news
Approximately 40,000 dollars worth of book rental money is missing from an Oak Hill Middle School.
The schools treasurer, Sherri Loher, has been charged with taking it over a three year period.
The money was discovered missing during the school corporations regular bi-annual audit this fall.
Officials say once they learned of the news, they acted immediately.
Loher was placed on an investigative suspension, but later submitted a letter of resignation according to school officials.
Prosecutors Friday charged Loher with theft over 200 dollars, but she was not arrested.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriffs Office, along with other law enforcement agencies are investigating the case.
