Evansville Police pulled a driver over for a broken headlight Friday. However, when they asked him for his license, the driver slipped them a current Evansville police ID card instead. Police say that driver is retired Evansville Police officer Timothy Fussner.
Police believe Fussner tried pass himself off as a current officer to get out his traffic stop and to avoid further investigation.
It didn't work. Police found small pieces of cocaine, drug residue on a baggy, a drug pipe, some steel wool, several open alcohol containiers, an EPD sergeant's badge and expired credentials.
Police say Fussner had three other people in his car.
One was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, one was a lifetime registered sex offender, and one was currently on parole for theft.
