News Release: Parks Board Approves Boys and Girls Club Lease Agreement (EVANSVILLE, IN) – The Department of Parks Recreation Board of Park Commissioners today approved a long-term lease for the new Boys and Girls Club of Evansville. The Club will relocate to the Carver Ridley Rollerdrome at 700 Bellemeade Avenue. As part of the lease agreement, the Club will renovate the Rollerdrome and add on a new gym. The Boys and Girls Club will be moving from its current location at 716 W. Illinois Street. The relocation is being prompted by the Club’s desire to upgrade its facility and to make way for the expansion of Berry Plastics. Berry is locating its global headquarters in Evansville. “This is going to be a great move for the Boys and Girls Club. They will be able to reach out to more children, and offer programming and services from a bigger, brand new facility,” said Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel. “The move also allows Berry Plastics to expand and add 250 new jobs. This deal is a win-win situation for everyone involved.” No date has been set for completion of their new facility, but the Club anticipates no interruption in services.
