Its been almost a week since the tornado tore through Muhlenberg county. Victims are still picking up the pieces but this morning many took a short break to go to church. Dr. Ray England is the pastor at Greenvilles Second Baptist Church. His Sunday morning message was meant to help members get back on their feet and look to God in their time of need. Among the congregation, England says about six or seven families lost their homes and many more were badly damaged. He says immediately following the storm, almost thirty members arrived at the church ready to help. A second offering was taken at the end of the service for relief efforts. Since the storm, the church has cooked and delivered more than 2,000 meals to victims and volunteers. Those who lost their homes tell us its comforting to have a church familys support and love at a time like this.
