Things have gone from bad to worse tonight with this winter weather. The snow has covered the yards and roads are covered with ice. This ice is only the kicker in a day full of wintry weather mess. It didnt take long for the ground to go from grass to a wintry white. With little notice motorists were left in the mess. "Its like riding a sled just got to go with the slide," says one motorist. It caused major headaches for some like Jenny Baker who had to fight with her ice covered windshield wiper just to get out of the parking lot. The snow was much more treacherous for others like this man who crashed his car at Sixth and Franklin. Getting to the accidents was even more difficult for the firefighters. "Its hard to get around and its hard to get get our trucks stopped, says Captain Jim Pauli. Snow plows were doing their best to keep up, but even among all the annoyed stranded motorists there were a few who could find the fun in the snow. Both city and county snow plows will be out getting roads cleared for your morning commute. But dealing with all this ice is not easy. So stay in if you can if not in the morning take some extra time getting where you need to go.
