Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel announced Thursday - the Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureaus proposed baseball complex will not be built at Wesselman Park.
The Mayor met with a representative of the Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau Thursday afternoon.
He said the proposed 9-field complex would fill a niche and attract additional tourism business, but he listened to the people who voiced their concerns in letters, emails, traveling city hall meetings, and phone calls.
Now he believes there is a solution that will satisfy everyone.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau says while Wesselmans was its first choice, it was not the only one.
The Bureau says it will pursue the project at another location, but theres no word where.
