UPDATE -- Finally some good news for Kentucky residents that were left in the dark after last weeks winter blast. Kenergy has reported everyone is back on line. Right after the ice storm more than 10 thousand households were without power Crews have worked around the clock to get power back on aome employees working 16 to 19 hour shifts. PREVIOUS REPORT Its been almost a week since an ice storm hit Kentucky causing thousands of families to lose power. And while living without electricity is difficult, Kenergy employees, whore trying to get power restored are having a tough time too. Kenergy spokesperson Lisa Owen says the goal is to have all power back on by Tuesday at noon, and until then they will man the phones and work 24 hours until its back on. This means long days for employees, some working 16 to 19 hour shifts. This is the third ice storm Roger Robertsons worked through. He says he knew what to expect. He showed us lists of power lines they fixed each day. And says sunny weather is always a bonus. Sunday morning about 1400 people were without power. That list has since been cut in half and continues to get smaller. While Kenergy hopes to have all power back on by Tuesday, Robertson says the work wont be over for them. Theyll be repairing broken lines and poles for months. Some damages may even take as long as a year to get to.
