breaking news
Accidents on icy roads translated into a busy day for officers and road crews.
But there were others just as busy.
Henderson countys 911 dispatchers made sure that those unlucky on the roads also got the help.
911 Dispatcher Trainee, Ben Butler says within five minutes of getting to work he took calls back to back.
One of those was an overturned tractor trailer on the Pennyrile.
Henderson 911 Supervisor, Nyeda Ditzer says the had 25 accidents since six oclock this morning, five or six falls on the ice. A lot busier than normal day when there may be one or two accidents.
Ditzer says through there was only three of four that they had to send the ambulance to...mostly minor injuries.
Lasts weeks bad weather hit the Henderson dispatchers just as hard.
Through that theyve learned to call in extra staff but other than that Ditzer says they handle the calls the same but are just a lot busier.
