Indiana University Athletic Director Rick Greenspan took the past week to conduct his own investigation into the future of embattled Hoosier head coach, Kelvin Sampson.
The school finally came to a resolution with Sampson early Friday night.
The coach accepted a $750,000 buy-out and resigned as Indianas head basketball coach.
Terms of the buy-out include Sampson will not sue the University for wrongful termination.
He will be replaced by Assistant Coach Dan Dakich on an interim basis, starting with Saturday nights game at Northwestern.
This all stems from last weeks announcement that the NCAA is accusing Sampson of five major recruiting violations relating to impermissible phone calls to potential recruits.
ESPNs Andy Katz has suggested that star freshman, Eric Gordon, may be one of the recruits in question.
Gordon had verbally committed to play at the University of Illinois before changing his mind and deciding on IU.
