ISP Seeks Help Identifying Victim Found in Dumpster

On Friday, January 25, 2008, at approximately 9:45 a.m., the Marshall, IL. Police Department received a call of a body discovered in a dumpster in the 200 block of Walnut Street outside of the Cherry Street Apartments in Marshall IL. On Saturday, January 26, 2008, an autopsy was performed on the remains of the unidentified deceased male. The victim is believed to be approximately mid-twenties to early-thirties in age, he is 5'05" in height, 130 pounds, with short dark hair, brown eyes and a short goatee of facial hair. The deceased has a full set of teeth with no dental work noted. The victim has no tattoos or scars and his identity remains unknown to law enforcement authorities. The ongoing investigation is being handled as a Homicide. The Illinois State Police Zone 7 in Effingham is releasing an artist’s sketch of the victim and a photo of a 24 inch gold necklace worn by the victim. Anyone with information on the identity of the deceased is asked to contact the Illinois State Police Zone 7 Investigations at 217/347-2711, the Marshall Police Department or the Clark County Sheriff’s Department at 217/826-8081.
