An Evansville woman makes a shocking discovery after a yard sale purchase.  She says all she wanted was a laptop case, but when she opened it she found a loaded handgun inside.
A lot of people find a lot of great deals at yard sales, but when Rhonda Milligan went to the Evansville Christian Life Center sale she got more than she bargained for.
Rhonda Milligan made several stops in her yard sale spree, one of those was here at the Evansville Christian Life Center on Kentucky Avenue. She bought a leather laptop case, but when she got home and opened the bag she was shocked to find a fully loaded revolver.
She says she believes the Christian Life Center was careless and did not check the bag before putting it up for sale.  Milligan called police to meet her back at the Center, but by that time the facility was already closed.
She says she hopes sellers will be more careful, and that bargain hunters will take a second look before they buy.
Evansville police declined to comment on the incident on the scene.  We also reached out to the Evansville Christian Life Center for comment, but those messages weren't returned.

It was most likely someone that just donated their recently deceased father, or mother%u2019s stuff to the church sale to help out the church. They were not aware that their father or mother owned any handguns and/or long guns, so they never thoroughly searched everything for such items. The best advice I have is to try and contact the church to find out who donated the bags and see if they want the gun back. It may have historical value to them. If they don%u2019t want it back, then find someone you know that is into such things and let them have it as a gift. Hardly something to get bent out of shape over. The only thing to get bent out of shape over is how the reporter was handling the gun. That is what you call %u201CAn accident waiting to happen!%u201D.

that is not the safest way to pick that thing up! The handgun unloaded is probably hot enough to heat a small room. :-/
