Vanderburgh County Residents Could Receive Tax Credit Again in 2013

It appears Vanderburgh County homeowners will take advantage of an eight percent tax credit again in 2013.
A first reading of the proposal is expected at tonight's City Council meeting, after which, council members could take a preliminary vote. A final vote expected on June 11th.
If approved, the credit would give Vanderburgh County homeowners an eight percent property tax credit on their residence.
The Vanderburgh County Council and the Darmstadt Town Board will consider similar proposals in July.
Eight percent is the maximum credit that counties can give under state law.
