Last year, Henderson county was given a 125 thousand dollar energy efficient block grant to make improvements to the courthouse.
The grant was a part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. New energy efficient light bulbs and windows were installed with the grant money. The benefits of those improvements were already felt over this past winter.
The Lieutenant Governor also noted that all the work done to improve the court house was done by local businesses.
