Many across the country are celebrating Memorial Day today, but few understand its meaning more than an Evansville woman who's husband, father and brother all sacrificed for their country.
Sharon Beccia's family has a long history of military service.  Her father was a gunman in the Air Force in World War II, Her late husband fought in Vietnam.
But even as she continues to mourn their loss, she says pride shines through that pain.
On a day millions across America remember fallen loved ones, Sharon Beccia looks on this ceremony, with more grief with most.  Beccia's late husband, Edward Colacecchi, Vietnam veteran.  And her father, U.S. Air Force gunman Charles Melton.
As these notes cut through the May heat, this symbol a constant reminder of not just her family, but others like hers.
Since Memorial Day was first observed in the 1860s, more than 600,000 U.S. servicemen and women have died in war.
