Daviess County is one of only 17 districts in Kentucky to get the award. It's based on academics, test scores, teacher salaries and class sizes.
"This consistency and recognition is important to us because it tells us we are on the right track and also that parents recognize what we're doing, and that they're seeing a success in the students who have completed an education in Daviess County Public Schools and have gone on to successful careers in college and in the work place," said Lora Wimsatt with the district.
The award is given by the research firm SchoolMatch in Ohio that surveys parents about what they want to see in the public school districts.
