UPDATE: Evansville Man In Custody Charged With Murder Of Girlfriend

Police say the two got in to a fight early Sunday morning after a night of drinking at a city bar. When the two arrived home, police say they got in to a physical altercation.
When McDowell woke up later Sunday morning, he found the victim, 24-year-old Rachel Lowmax, unresponsive and called 911.
She was pronounced dead on the scene and McDowell was taken in to custody for questioning; later being charged with her murder.
UPDATE:
Vanderburgh County Coroner Annie Groves says the victim is 24-year-old Rachel Lowmax. The coroner says the cause of death is undetermined until an autopsy on Monday. Groves says the death looks suspicious.

Evansville Police are on the scene of a death investigation at 2659 apartment A on Mount Vernon Avenue, that's on the north west side. The call came in at 10:30 Sunday morning. Our Eyewitness News crew on the scene says they saw the coroner removing a body from the apartment just after 4:30 Sunday afternoon. Police say they do have a person of interest in custody, but will not release any more details. We'll have the latest on Eyewitness News at 9:00 and 10:00.
