Jehovah's Witenss Convention Returns to Evansville

Updated: June 12, 2012
For the ninth year, Evansville will play host to one of the largest religious conventions in the region.

The Jehovah's Witness District Convention will return to the River City for two weekends, June 15-17 and June 22-24.  Since first coming to Evansville in 2004, the convention has been held at Roberts Stadium, but this will be the first year it will be held in the new Ford Center.

It's estimated the group pumps about 3 million dollars into the Evansville and Vanderburgh County economy each year, and with nearly five thousand mouths to feed, the Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau is telling downtown business and restaurants to be on alert for the extra crowds.

The public is invited to attend the services on June 15, 16, and 17, and again on June 22, 23, and 24.

The schedule is below:
  • Morning sessions begin at 9:20a.m.Lunch
  • Lunch: 12:00p.m.
  • Afternoon sessions begin at 1:50p.m. on Fridays, 1:35p.m. on Saturdays and 1:25p.m. on Sundays
  • Sessions end at 4:30p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 4:00p.m. on Sundays
