Lemonaid Stand Raises Money for Easter Seals

Another favorite treat is popping up all across the Tri-State. But today we're taking a closer look at one stand on Evansville's East side supporting Easter Seals.
The 17th Annual Lemonaid Stand for Easter Seals was held earlier today outside the Rehabilitation Center on Bellemeade Ave. The lunchtime event featured hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream, cookies and of course lemonade. There was also a silent auction with special Cardinals and Reds baseball tickets, and IceMen tickets for the highest bidders.
"17 years ago, Kayla and Emily Thomason started this on their front lawn," said coordinator Art George. "I'm not sure how much they made, but probably $20 to $30. It just grew from there."
Easter Seals officials say they were hopeful around $3,000 would be raised at the event. All the food and ice cream were donated by area businesses. Proceeds all go to support Easter Seals Rehabilition Center.
