Goats Run Wild at Mesker Park Zoo

Many people are familiar with the Running of the Bulls in Spain, but few people have taken in the Running of the Goats at Mesker. Mesker Park Zoo is holding its annual Summer Camp this week. As part of the camp, participants are learning how to train animals.
At the end of this session, campers had to use a clicker and a cracker to get their goats to run some races. In the first race, campers were able to use the crackers to coax the animals along. But in the second race, they could only use the clicker.
"Well our goat was really really stubborn," said camper Morgan Jackson. "so some says he did not behave at all and some days he was fairly decent.. I've learned that training animals takes a lot of patients, especially when they are stubborn."
The zoo's summer camps run through July 27. Each camp is a week long, and the zoo says it still has openings for many of the sessions.
