With next year being the 150th Anniversary of the Evansville Police Department, the department wants the public's help. Police ask for those who have historical police memorabilia or pictures to contribute the items for a special anniversary event. The items will be part of a visual history display that will take place some time next year to honor the department for its service.

"There's a lot of people in the community who's great grandfather or even great great grandfather was an Evansville police officer," said Assistant Police Chief Chris Pugh, "and they may have some memorabilia, some photographs, or whatever. But now they really don't have any affiliate with the police department, and we'd like for them to get in contact with us."

All contributions will be returned to the owners. The location for the event is still being decided.
