Officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet say a truck carrying chicken guts spilled its cargo around 6:00 p.m. at the 44-mile-marker, near the Madisonville exit.
They say the driver of the truck locked up the brakes to avoid a crash and the chicken guts sloshed out of the truck. The Eyewitness News photographer on the scene says at least three cars slid on the innards, which caused a series of crashes.
The crash shut down the northbound lanes of the Parkway for nearly three hours.
