Record Average Gas Prices Expected Today
(New York, NY) -- Drivers throughout the U.S. wont likely be thrilled with what today brings.
Tuesday is expected to be a record day for average gas prices in the U.S.
Thats according to Triple-A which also predicts the cost of gas could reach an average of three-dollars-50-cents a gallon this spring, and could go over four-dollars per gallon this summer.
An analyst with the motor group says yesterdays rapid rise in crude oil to near 108-dollars a barrel will likely push the average cost of high higher.
Triple-A also warns the record gas prices could negatively impact highway traveling this summer.
Many Americans are already making adjustments due to soaring gas prices.
The use of mass transit hit a 50-year high last year as drivers opted to leave their vehicles behind in favor of public transportation.
