On Tuesday, a judge set bond for 49-year-old Brian Powers at 100 thousand dollars. Powers was also ordered not to have any contact with his alleged victim.
Evansville Police say Powers stabbed Robert Brown as he slept on a bench at the METS bus station early Monday morning. Powers was later arrested at the United Caring Shelter.
Officers say Powers may also be connected with the stabbings of two other homeless men at Dress Plaza last week.
Powers is due in court again on Friday.
