Theres a new weapon claiming to help you win your weight loss battle.
Researchers say the ingredients in a new over the counter supplement can jump start even the most stubborn diet.
Foxs Doctor Joette Giovinco takes a look.
Raheem Babalola helps viewers all over the country help viewers get an in depth at products, like this exercise device.
It works his legs, arms, and rock hard abs.
But as strong as he looks, Raheem admits hes got a big weakness -- junk food.
Babalola says, "I love chocolate cake and I like to eat."
But fattening foods mean unwanted pounds.
So to help counteract his potentially career ending habit, Raheem is taking these yellow capsules -- supplements called dex-c20.
He says, "I can just see my stomach getting a little more trim, with me eating cake and brownie and all the bad stuff. Cookies, captain crunch in the morning, all that stuff."
A month later he dropped 10 pounds.
Dr. Richard Goldfarb not only sampled the supplement, hes helping the company study it.
Dr. Goldfarb says, "It was great. I really had an increased amount of energy without no jitteriness and Im very sensitive to these types of things. In a months time I lost about 12lbs. So I was really happy with myself."
This bring yellow powder contains caraluma fimbriata.
Like another supplement called hoodia, caraluma comes from a cactus plant and it helps curb appetite.
But Goldfarb says, theres a difference.
Caraluma attacks fat.
"What this does is actually break up an enzyme that is stored in the fat cell itself, to shrink the actual stored fat cells."
Babolola says, "Its keeping those cells, those fat, those new fat cells from coming in those areas. Its attacking them. Its saying no you cant stay here. You gotta go."
Raheem thinks caraluma will catch on, much like the products he demonstrates on tv.
Babolola says: "if a product is good, itll sell itself."
