UPDATE: On Monday, two more Kentucky counties announced they are lifting their burn bans. Daviess and Webster join McLean and Henderson Counties in lifting the bans, which have been in place for weeks.
PREVIOUS: Two western Kentucky counties have lifted bun bans which have been in effect for more than two months.
McLean County, Kentucky announced Friday that the burn ban there is no longer in effect. And Henderson County Judge Executive, Donald McCormick, has lifted a burn ban which was issued on May 29th.
McCormick said, "While dry conditions remain, we received enough substantial rain to relieve the immediate threat of a fire hazard. He went on to say, "I told everyone that I would work with them and when we received enough rain to lift the burn ban, I would do so."
Even though the ban has been lifted, McCormick is still reminding residents to use common sense when burning or cooking outdoors.
