Man Says He Tried to Hire a Hit-Man to Kill His Ex-Wife

A Gibson County man accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill his ex-wife says he did. In April police arrested Jason Gardner and charged him with conspiracy to commit murder.

Gardner has has agreed to plead guilty.

He will be sentenced September 6th.

Police say an undercover ATF agent met Gardner this past spring and Gardner agreed to pay him $1,000 in advance and another $1,000 after the job was done. Gardner's current wife, Pamela, is also charged in the case.

Her case is still pending.
