St. Patrick's Day During Holy Week

St. Patricks day is finally here! However, many parades, parties and services were scheduled early this year and have already passed. Thats because St. Patricks day falls during the Catholic churchs holy week, the week preceding Easter. Catholic Church rules say that no mass can be celebrated in honor of any Saint during this week. Its changing the way many Catholics around the world are celebrating the holiday, but here in Evansville, many people we spoke with say festivities will go on as usual. This is the first time since 1940 St. Patricks day fell in the middle of holy week, and according to the Catholic calendar, it wont happen again until the year 2160.
