From: The Southwestern Indiana Chapter of the American Red Cross
American Red Cross issues URGENT CALL for volunteer instructors,
Orientation scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, 2008
Evansville, Ind. – With a little time and a little training, anyone can save a life. The Southwestern Indiana Chapter of the American Red Cross is actively seeking individuals interested in becoming volunteer instructors of CPR and First Aid.
This URGENT CALL for additional volunteer instructors is a result of the growing demand for the Red Cross’ lifesaving training. The local chapter trains over 1,000 individuals a month in CPR and First Aid, many classes being taught by dedicated volunteer instructors.
The Southwestern Indiana Chapter will be holding a Volunteer Instructor Orientation and Open House on Wednesday, March 19 from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at their office located at 29 S. Stockwell Rd. in Evansville. Attendees will learn how as a volunteer instructor for the Red Cross they can receive 38 hours of lifesaving skills training necessary to become a certified American Red Cross instructor at no personal expense.
American Red Cross volunteer instructors are members of a select group of trained individuals who reflect the standards and ideals of the Red Cross. Our volunteer instructors gain the opportunity to share their training and knowledge throughout the community to help their friends, neighbors and co-workers become prepared to save a life.
