HENDERSON - Several local republicans held a watch party at Mister B's on the Henderson strip.

The latest polls here in Kentucky show Romney with a comfortable lead over the president.

In the Commonwealth, Romney comes in with 57 percent of the vote. That's compared to Obama's 41 percent. That only leaves a small two percent wedge of likely voters still undecided at this point and ,as you know, both candidates are vying for every vote they can.

Any swing voters they can reach with the convention coverage or the campaign as a whole will only help come election day and could make or break either of these candidates ultimately.

Republicans here in Kentucky say this is the most important election of their political lives. They gave their reaction to the first night from the convention

Our coverage from the Republican National Convention from Tampa and here at home continues through the week right here on Eyewitness News: Your local election headquarters.
