Harrison High School is putting traditional learning on the back burner this week.
The school is hosting a rally Thursday for democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton.
Its not like a test on genetics in Ms. Counts Freshman Honors Biology class isnt important, but the chatter around Harrison High School has nothing to do with tests.
"Its a great buzz. Everyone is getting excited," says senior Michelle Schwitzer
All anyone can talk about is the day they may get to shake hands with Hillary Clinton.
Shes having a rally in the schools gym Thursday.
Even principal Janet Leisner cant believe a national figure like Clinton is coming.
"Many of our faculty and students want to see the rally."
The reason the Clinton camp chose Harrison High School is because of the security.
The gym has an outside entrance and its off a main road.
About 3500 people can fit in there and Leisner hopes to fill it with as many students and teachers as she can.
After learning their bleachers will unfold to welcome a possible president - Seniors like Schweizer and Michelle Rexing started doing their political homework.
"I want to know how shes different and how she could be the leader of the country especially as a woman," says Rexing.
They say its a great chance to make an informed vote in their very first election.
"Now you see people talking about Hillary and Obama and their differences."
They cant get through a class without it coming up.
"Itll be something to go down in Harrisons history," says Leisner..
Even if it makes taking tests harder than usual.
This is also the last week before spring break for the EVSC.
The students say that just adds to the hard time their having concentrating on their daily assignments.
