The Mesker Park Zoo family is growing. It is adding three sifakas, which are a species of lemur. They are their own little family, a father and his two sons, who came to Mesker from the Houston Zoo.

The two younger lemurs are easy to tell apart because one has a shorter tail. The species from the island of Madagascar are endangered because of habitat loss, and zoo officials couldn't be happier to get them for their visitors.

"There are only 10 zoos that have them," said Animal Curator Dr. Susan Lindsay, "so it's not something you see every place you go. And again, they are very active animals."

The three are on display in the zoo's Lemur Forest now.
