Coaches to be Sentenced in Sex Crimes Cases

By: Michael C. Fehn
Updated: October 4, 2012
A former Ohio County High School basketball coach, accused of sexual activity with students, is set to go on trial today.

Nathan Phelps is accused of several counts of sexual activity with a minor.

Phelps coached the Ohio County High School girl's basketball team, and is said to have engaged in acts with girs who were 15 and 16 years old at the time of the alleged crimes.

This trial starts the same day that another Ohio County girls basketball coach, Terry Noffsinger, will be sentenced on similar crimes which he plead guilty to back in August.

It's unclear how Noffsinger's case could affect Phelps' case.  We'll have more on both of these cases later today on Eyewitness News.
