Arrest Made in EPD Vandalism Case

By: Michael C. Fehn
Updated: October 4, 2012
Evansville Police say a gang member from Las Vegas is behind this week's vandalism on the department's west sector office.

24-year-old, James Williams, is facing a charge of criminal mischief.  Police say Williams was arrested during a traffic stop while officers were responding to a call of shots fired Tuesday night.

Detectives with the gang task force say Williams had recently moved to Evansville from Las Vegas where he was reportedly affiliated with gangs there.

The graffiti on the buildings reportedly matches those of the gangs Williams is said to have been a part of.

Detectives say, at this time, there is not enough evidence to connect Williams to all of the vandalism cases.
