No Merger for Owensboro and Daviess County

Merging the city of Owensboro and Daviess County governments will not happen, at least not in the near future.
Supporters and opponents of the idea have been circulating petitons urging government leaders to approve a study of the idea.
The Owensboro City Commission did give the okay, but Daviess Fiscal Court has not and probably wont.
The group discussed the idea at its Thursday meeting, but no one ever made a motion to move the idea forward.
That means it is likely dead, at least for the rest of the year.
