While many kids were hunting for eggs this morning, one Henderson congregation was thankful they werent hunting for a new church. Airline Baptist Church in Henderson was damaged by this weeks flood waters, but members made sure they were still able to enjoy their easter services. Pastor Nathan Whisnant tells his members how this weeks flooding caused he and his wife to evacuate their home for two days. He lives next door to airline baptist church, which he says is no stranger to flooding. They placed sand bags at nearly every entrance of the church and rubber baseboards along the walls. Yet water still managed to find its way in. Four inches of water came through doors damaging carpet in the childrens room, despite that, members say they are thankful to be in church on Easter. One minor change this week due to the flooding, Sunday school had to be relocated. But to the relief of all, the Easter service resumed and members found a reason to laugh and give thanks.
