A Tri-State teacher's hard work in the classroom is paying off. Jennifer Meadors of Castle High School was named Peabody Energy Leader in Education and was awarded with $1,000 for her compassion and commitment to students with developmental disabilities. She was selected by a committee of top educators and business leaders. Students and faculty surprised Meadors today.

"They told me it was an emergency for a student," said Meadors. "I was surprised and shocked. Didn't know why everyone was clapping."

Peabody Energy is located in Evansville. They're the largest private-sector coal company.
