Tiny Calhoun, KY was the center of attention Monday as hundreds gathered to say goodbye to 13 year old Lane Goodwin.  Goodwin lost his battle to brain cancer on October 17th after more than three years.

Hundreds of people packed the small sanctuary at Calhoun Baptist Church for the Monday ceremony.  Many who knew him were amazed by Lane's courage and strength throughout his battle with cancer.

Lane's story stretched around the world. Photos posted on the Prayers for Lane Goodwin FaceBook page came from as far away as Iraq, Afghanistan and Japan.  Even MLB players from his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals, posted pictures posing with the signature thumbs up sign.

The Goodwin family says, through a spokesperson, they are committed to continuing Lane's legacy through a charitable foundation.  They hope the Lane Goodwin Foundation will help bring awareness for all childhood cancers, and someday lead to a cure.
