Work is underway for a piece of land devastated by last year's floods. You may remember the May 2011 floods destroyed this piece of land near the Newburgh Riverfront causing concrete steps and asphalt to sink and slide. Funding has been provided by FEMA and other agencies to help the town rebuild. The federal government is paying 75 percent of the almost $1 million cost, while the town of Newburgh is paying the remainder. The project is expected to be complete by November 30.
