But sparks flew during a conversation about government transparency, when incumbent Robert Pruitt brought up "backdoor politics."
When I speak to you, I'm gonna tell you the truth. Now sometimes, the truth hurts. And when I catch three people in the mayor's office -- three commissioners -- and me and the city attorney sat outside the door ... What am I supposed to do? Not tell you? Mr. Pruitt's gonna tell everyone here," said Pruitt during the debate.
Mike Farmer and Alan Taylor, the other two incumbents at the debate, say Pruitt's allegations are not true. The other incumbent, Robby Mills, did not attend the debate due to an illness.
